Guitarist and vocalist, Bill MacDonald, played in various Northwest groups throughout his music career: Superband, Me & My Friends, Mestiso, Gypsy in the ‘60’s & ‘70’s, Paris Bar Band, Lady, The Contenders, Alive and Well, China in the ‘80’s, (ten year break) Campfire Boyz, Soundcast, Shelly & The Curves, Madison, Children Of The Blues, and Big Dog Revue in the ‘90’s and 2000’s. Music education includes Cornish School of the Arts and Berklee College of Music where Bill studied with recording artists Pat Metheny and Gary Burton. Retired in 2022 following a successful career in real estate, Bill constructed a recording studio at his Carnation home where the JFB Quintet was formed from a diverse collection of five exceptional musicians. It is where they rehearse and record their unique adaptations of listenable music. Covered recording artists include David Sanborn, Bob James, Tom Scott & The LA Express, John Scofield, Chuck Mangione and others. Original compositions are an integral part of the mix, as well.
