Keyboard and vocalist, John Osborne (Louie), played in groups like Soldier, S.O.U.P., and Cool Ray and the Shades in the 70’s & 80’s. More recently (2000’s – 2020’s) John performed with Jazz Island Rewind & Captain Jack and the Pirates of Rock & Roll. His educational journey took him to Centralia College (music theory), North Texas State (big band jazz), Western Washington University (composition and small group jazz), and after retirement Shoreline College (jazz theory and improvisation). As a composer, John has worked in many genres, Rock & Roll, Pop, Jazz, Big Band, Choir, Christian, etc. The JFB Quintet is a chance for him to explore the mix of fusion, blues, funk, etc. in a unique way and is a style of music he has never played before and is a natural extension of his musical sensibilities.
